How I Use Communication Tools to Support Co-Parents
I was recently interviewed by TalkingParents, a nationally recognized co-parenting communication service used by families and courts across the country. Their team reached out after reading one of my articles on co-parenting apps, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share how these tools support parents in creating stability, reducing conflict, and staying out of court.
In my law and mediation practice, nearly all of my work involves helping parents navigate separation, build healthy co-parenting habits, and make decisions that support their children's future. TalkingParents is one of the tools I recommend often because it offers a structured, accountable way for parents to communicate more effectively.
In the interview, I discussed:
-
how TalkingParents improves communication for parents
-
why courts value it as a reliable, non-modifiable record
-
how the app helps resolve scheduling issues and holiday plans
-
the role these tools play in reducing unnecessary litigation
-
why I encourage parents to use communication tools early in their process
Here's a quote from the feature that captures the heart of why I use it in both my legal and mediation work:
“Parents can take all the hard work they've done in mediation and put it into practice in TalkingParents. I see that they are more successful and able to stay out of the court system because they're using a communication service.”
